NASA On the Air / US Island Awards Program

Howdy!

Hope everyone’s summer is going well. As we get ready to head back to school, I wanted to post about two QSO’s I recently made during a POTA activation. The first was W5RRR – the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX who were a part of NASA On the Air. NOTA celebrates the rich history of NASA and activates on significant historic dates related to NASA. The second, was K3USI, which is part of the US Island Awards Program. The U.S. Islands Awards Program is an amateur radio award program centered around chasing and activating river, lake, and ocean shore islands within the 50 United States and its Territories and Protectorates. It is separate from IOTA (Islands on the Air), but just as fun. Links are both on the Events and Online Tools pages. Check them out today!
